A 40+ member international initiative uniting ecology, computer science, philosophy, and social sciences to create an open platform for ecological knowledge
I am a member of the international, interdisciplinary EcoWeaver initiative, led by Tina Heger, Birgitta König-Ries, Robert Frühstückl, and Tim Alamenciak, that brings together more than 40 members from backgrounds in ecology, computer science, philosophy, and the social sciences.
We approach research from the perspective that we face a triple planetary crisis and seek to help address it. We aim to weave together ecological knowledge from diverse sources, using state-of-the-art computational technologies, and create EcoWeaver, an infrastructure that includes an openly accessible knowledge base that adheres to the FAIR and CARE principles, and the tools to create, manage, and access it (See our website for more information).
In this project, I work on implementing the CARE principles for Indigenous Data Governance in ecological evidence synthesis, as well as keeping our positionality statement up to date.
